anyone have a tent garage for their e46?

I'm considering getting one of those tent garage to keep my 330i in at night. Anyone have one, unfortunately my driveway is somewhat narrow, so I can only get a 10' wide one, not a standard 12' wide one. I'm curious how the car will fit inside, easy of getting in and out of the doors etc.

Thanks

Just hook a heater and ac up to one and I wouldn't mind living in there either. I kind of have the same problem, my driveway isn't that wide. Are you planning on getting the one's with the sides or the open sides with just the roof. If you get the one without the sides, I don't see a problem getting in and out.

smarty pants, in some areas 500k homes often don't have garages. In San Diego, unless you buy in the horrid world of RB/Del Mar/Mira Mesa you stand a good chance of buying a half million dollar home built in the 1950s without a garage.

My place has a garage - single car garage. the bimmer gets it, the mazda sits outside. But I made it a point to only buy a house with a garage. In my neighborhood I'd guess a good 80% of the homes lack garages. Just the norm out here.

I want the fully enclosed "house" style. FYI, the 12x20x10 is on special for $399 with the anchor kit in Gray and Hunter Green colors. Too bad thats not my size, the others are $500+ Not as common brings the price up

I have one like the jeep in the pic above... keep my VW Thing in it... Keep in mind, it has to be bolted down, else it will blow away... size wise, should be fine, it's material after all, so when you open your door, even if you rub against the side of the tent, it one dent it... scuff perhaps if your not careful... BTW, have you looked at Costco? They sell the same thing for around $300... I got mine from BJs (same thing)...

I have not checked them yet, are they 10' or 12' wide? Also, the one Shelterworkz offers is actually different than the one pictured with the jeep, it has more reinforcement bars along the sides, similar to the dome style tent.

Might want to check your zoning restrictions; some places don't allow these semi-permanent structures (i.e. my deed prohibits them).

I was basically going to say the same thing. Not only zoning, but my neighborhood covenants would never allow this type of "structure".

They show the cars parked on the grass in those pictures, I though that wasn't a good idea?

You can put a tarp down under the car, to help with that... I talked with a "preserver" at the Smithsonian Paul Garber restoration facility (because I wanted to keep my VW Thing inside one of those, on top of the grass) and that was his recommendation.... Of course, VW Things don't have catalytic converters that might ignite said tarp if it gets bunched up under the car, so be careful (or preferably, put something on top of the tarp (maybe pavers? ) to help avoid that situation)...
