Angry Bad luck :(

It was good saturday today here LA. It was sunny but it was chilly. Around 4, my buddy calls me saying we should hang out. Being the lazy bum i am, i just leave all the homework i had, and headed to my garage!

What do i see, there is a dent, a HUGE dent, all way back, above the tire on the driver side of the car. On the same side where the cd changer and the dvd nav would be, exact same height and location, but on the outside!

This is not some regular dent, nothing that i recall(i'm sure i would have felt something like this), and i'm sure none of the other family cars hit this. There is not a single scratch, and it is too high for any old regular car. I'm thinking a bastard from school too care of this!

In fact i have no doubt, i mean what kind of a car leaves a dent without a singe a sracth! I was shocked. I don't have pics as it is too late to take any. But just from the explanination, any one know how much it would cost to fix something like this?
I'm sure BMW is not going to pound it out, but actually replace the whole thing!
Any estimates would be apriciated!
Thanx
Burak

I wonder if this is something that Dent Wizard could tackle? You said that there are no scratches. If that is the case and the size of the dent is managable, you may be able to use Dent Wizard. The guy that I go to in NJ is amazing.

a big fat butt

Looks like someone press there butt against it and pressed it in.

You might have luck with that big suction cup thing.

But at the horizontal crease it might still be out of wack.

Dude, dent totally blows .

Looks like someone leaned and pushed into the side (may be used their knee). Take it to your dealership. I was at the new 3 celebration at New Century BMW this past Friday. They had a sign about the 'dent removing' service at the dealership. If not, they could recommend you to the autobody shop they use for their own automobiles.

I'm with you - somebody put a knee into that car. It wasn't hit by another car. It looks like the kind of dent that happens when a cyclist falls into a car with their body.

I would however think a good body shop could suction that out pretty well.

That does blow, it was a knee or bum, and I'd bet a dollar that Dent Masters could get that out without doing any paint work. Years ago when I participated on another (ahem) BMW enthusiast site this guy with a 540i had a serious fender dent, but no paint damage. I'd say it was as bad or worse than yours. He had one of those paintless dent removal places work on it for an entire day and about a Grand later it was perfect.

I had almost the same type of dent last year.... though it was below the beltline forward of the wheel well on a CI (okay, nothing like yours )

Point is... I went to paintless dent wizzards... they said it was hard to push out because there is frame back there. They tried for some time, and made it look about 75% better, though you can still see it if the light hits it right...

(oh, and BMW was going to REMOVE the dented panel... that's right... break welds....and reset it... )

good luck...for my money it looks like someone did a round-house kick into your car...
