Well, its ordered!

Thanks for all the opinions.

I ended up driving an SMG, and still preferred my 6 speed. I just am used to going from 4th to 2nd etc, which is somewhat different in an SMG. I definitely can imagine how cool it would be at a track btw, this thing destroys my S power wise--i was pretty shocked. Handling seems on par with what I'm used to as well. 997S is probably a better car, but for 30gs more.

HK vs. standard system--had a bit more bass, but still was bottoming out when pushed so I opted against. A tad clearer as well, but I could probably switch speakers out and get that anyways.

And the lumbar is now standard, so just the adj. width which for me since I'm 6'2" wasn't necessary at all once I sat in one.

btw, very good experience with a smaller LA dealership. Deal was done in 10 minutes and at the right price. No lease markups, etc.

Now the 6-8 week wait

Cheers,

Nope, they run the wheel that gives them the proper sidewall height with the proper circumference for the gearing. And yes, the minimum they CAN run is based onbrake size.

Race teams understand that tire sidewall compliance is part of the suspension and must be considered as part of the suspension tuning. Also too short of a sidewall creates problems when hitting, I mean RIDING on the curbs, or going off track. Too little sidewall may mean tire damage or unseating the rim.

Tire diameter/circumference effects gearing, so that is also part of the equation.

On my 2004 M3 Coupe, I have every option including the "fancy" black outside trim (I forget what it's called) and the power sunshade. The only options I did not get were BMW Assist and aluminum trim. I much prefer the titanium trim with SMG as everything matches especially the steering wheel. The only reason I didn't get BMW Assist is that I had OnStar on my wife's Acura TL and never used it. The only reason I got the power sunshade was to fill out all 7 buttons on the center console.

I always buy most all the options since I think it really helps on selling the car....there is something for everyone on the car.

Maybe short term. Longer term it is funny, but hte cars that sell fast are the ones without options as people are starting to buy them for track cars.

But I don't buy for the next guy, I buy for ME.

I posted a message to prospective used car buyers before ordering my current car and just configured it based on their feedback.

Yep, I'm talking short-term. I rarely keep a car longer than 3 years. I guess I just get bored with the car or something I like better comes along. The M3 has been a delight from day 1 and I don't seem to be getting bored. I guess if I start to get bored, all I need to do is go for a drive on the curvy backroads....he he
