Voice Recognition. No manual.

I have the Motorola Combo Assist/Bluetooth unit in my car. The Motorola P/N is 84 10 69 65 056 (latest version) with a manufacture date of 19 April 2005.

I have no personal experience with the Visteon units, but from what I have read here and at X3/X5WORLD, the later Visteon units have voice recogniotion included. The earlier units require an add-on SES unit, according to what I read.

I would go back to your dealer and tell him that you expected the latest version of the module and get him to swap it out.

I plan to do exactly that (tried today, but hardly anyone there due to the holidays). Hell it only takes 10 minutes to do a complete ULF swap in an X3, so I might just waltz in with the part and drop in on his desk.

This will at least prove if VR is contained within the latest 7th-gen Visteon ULF.

If not, then it looks like I would need to get this part: 84-41-6915-049

I bought a generation 13 ULF off of Ebay and it works great in my 2004 X3. I did have to purchase an aftermarket pairing button from Bimmernav though.
