Question Fun tricks to show your sales rep

I am picking up my new 3 (black saphire, terra) in a couple weeks and wanted to know if people could list some fun things I could teach my salesperson when picking it up. Things like pushing the turn signal the same way to turn it off, etc. The types of things that aren't highlighted in the sales brochure.

The functionality of an MP3 CD might be good, with the whole ID3 tag support...

I think few sales people would know that Mystic Blue is available instead of Ultramarine Blue.

Park the car with the windows and sunroof open, take out the key, etc.

Then remove the valet key, stick it in the driver's door keyhole, turn right and hold for 5 seconds as the windows and sunroof close and the mirrors fold in...

You take the key out of the fob and stick it in the keyhole.

someone should show the sales rep the speed limiter kicking in on the 330i sports at 100 whatever MPH?

I think that would be a fun trick

My salesman encouraged me to hit the rev limiter...to prove it was there...

The car was one they were using in a dealer trade too...

Sounds dirty.

You also have to turn right and hold.

Bimmers have had this capability for years (with exception of folding mirrors). My 1999 528i did this. Unless the sales person is new, he/she will be aware of this one.

I sent my rep the following photo from Germany and I think he appreciated it quite a bit. And yes, its broken in... Rolled over 2000 miles today

But you might frighten your rep if you try to replicate something like this anywhere outside Germany...

VWs can also do this "trick" too. My ex had a 1997 Jetta GLX and her car could do the same thing.

Lock the car with the rear door open (mine can do this).

Then, throw ALL KEYS in the backseat and close the door.

See his reaction.

I had a 97 GLX and it's true. You could also hold it to the left and it would OPEN all the windows for you too (to ventilate the car before entering on a hot day). But then again my GLX had leather too, but my 330i is a lowly leatherette...

start the car with the key......turn it off take the key out........then put foot on brake and press start button the car will start right up w/o the key inserted. Then tell the CA "I thought comfort access wasn't available till sept?" The CA won't have an answser.......

Does that really work? Haven't heard that before.
That would be pretty funny if it's true; how did you this find out?

Just tried it while sitting in a car......caught me off guard. It seems as though something stays in memory for less than 20 secs.

When I picked up my new 320D a few weeks ago, the dealer made a point of showing me this 'feature'. Once the car is started, you can switch it off, remove the key and then within so many seconds (not sure of the exact time) start the car without inserting the key.

Apparently, this is 'as designed', the explanation went along the lines of... You pull up at some lights, stall the car, in your panic to restart the car you press the key and remove it, then you drop it, panic panic, you press the start button, and hey presto, the car still starts.

The dealer said he felt it important to point this out because of the potential side effect, you stop the car at a filling station, remove the key, get out the car to fill up, and in the few seconds you are outside the car with the doors unlocked, some nasty little chap jumps in your car and starts it!

Not totally convinced about the 'feature', but kind of pleased he told me about it!

I'm sure the apparent "feature" deactivates when you open the door...just like the windows "deactivate" when you open the door.

I would love to have shown this to my sales lady...but she would just smile and be like yes, you did order comfort access.
