E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

HIDS conversion kits???

Has anyone done a HID conversion kit on their vehicle from halogens to hids, if so, how did it go and how well does it look? Not sure if they look anything like oem since the distributor couldnt provide pictures :rolleyes :shifty

Looking forward to the help! Thanks guys

well, you're not going to get any projectal kind of lighting. it'll be all over the place. it'll be brighter (depending what color you get) but dollar for dollar, it's not going be worth it if you just went with silver stars.

if you were to get HID kits, get them from Xtec. I have 2 sets from them (highs and lows) and they haven't thrown a code yet and i don't expect them to. some HID's will throw codes since the resistance isn't up to the car's spec and BLAMO, "check low beam" will be splattered all over the MID.
