  1. 3 Series & 4 Series
So recently i had installed 6 new Autolite Iridium XP Spark plugs, before installing I would make around 25(ish) mpg average, and now i make around 12 mpg right away, like the gauge flies straight to 12 mpg. And when letting off the gas and letting my car roll, it stays around 15 mpg for a few...
  2. 1 Series & 2 Series
Hi there, I've got by BMW 1 series 116i which I love, but the fuel economy is not great on it. Its a 2.0 Petrol, and is averaging 31mpg. With fuel prices increasing constantly, this is one of the main reasons why I am thinking of selling it. But I was wondering if there is anything I can do to...
  3. 3 Series Hybrid
My 330e doesn't have navigation and was wondering if anybody would know wether or not I would see any difference in MPG if I did navigation retrofit so the car could map out battery usage per the route entered into the nav system?

Hi all, Recently picked up a Manual Diesel BMW 3 Series 320D SE 2008 with about 50k on the clock. Having really low average MPG around 23-25 I drove about 30 miles yesterday mixed driving mostly highway. I am fairly hands-on Any suggestions on what the problem is? Cheers George

  5. 7 Series - G11 / G12 (2016 - current)
I purchased my 2016 CPO 740i with only 13.9K miles but I feel like my average mpg is too low even if I don't really care much about gas I'm worried that there may be something wrong with it
  6. X3 E83 (2004 - 2010)
Recently started getting a drop in gas mileage after installing new brakes & rotors. I was averaging 24 mpg around town and 26 highway. I now get 22 mpg around town and 22-23 highway. How much pressure should be applied by the brakes with the parking brake and car in neutral (6 speed manual)? I...

  8. X5 E70 (2007 - 2013)
After An oil change at my dealer, and a subsequent battery replacement installation by me, my MPG increased from 19.1 max ever to 21.6 for a 850 mile trip uphill from Daytona Beach to Western Kentucky. I'm sure the history data was cleared during the battery exchange, but we average about 2000...

This is my first post on any BMW forum so lets hope it goes well. A few months ago I got P0171 and P0174 codes on my 2004 330ci, did some research and my own diagnosis on my car. No vacuum leaks as far as I have checked but I still replaced my ccv system anyways because it was old and brittle...
  10. F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
We got back from a 1,000 mi road trip last weekend in our 2016 228i ragtop. With 15k mi on the motor, we got 34 mpg overall. I'm impressed. This was at highway speeds (but off the interstate) all the way.
  11. X3 E83 (2004 - 2010)
Hi everyone, I am new to the brand and the forum. I have finally decided to purchase my first BMW (no more "just" watching you on the road) and would really appreciate getting some insights from you. - I am leaning towards the X3 3.0 because I need to pull a Jayco camper (10 footer and about...
  12. E46 (1999 - 2006)
Bought a few weeks ago and it's giving me 14.4mpg, 70% city, 30% highway. Did my own math and same shown on dash. Got 2K miles left for next oil change (7500 miles since last by previous owner). Tire pressures all good. I see no leaks. Any suggestions please? Thanks.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to start/stop a measurement miles apart (say on a road trip) in order to get the combined average miles per gallon. When I press the button on the left stalk it appears to be giving me either the instantaneous mpg - which is not very useful - or the mpg of averaged...
  14. E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013)
Hello guys :) Quick question.... I have a E90 318d non iDrive Have looked this up but couldn't find anything on it. When i change the consumption to mpg I get not so 'accurate' (it's not incorrect it's just not every decimal) or not precise answers ... For example, it jumps from 49.5 mpg...

Many of you know that there are hidden functions within the BMW on board computers. One that I have used in several cars is the function of adjusting the trip computer's fuel mileage factor. Does anyone know how to access this correction factor in the new X1s? My mpg is consistently 2mpg too...
  16. E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013)
So i got my first car a month ago, a 328i 2011 e92, and i know this has been probably posted many times, but i am getting excruciatingly sub-par never-have-i-seen-before fuel economy of 11-12 MPG, sometimes in the 10's.. Although i drive >80% city, and live in one of the most crowded cities in...
  17. E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013)
Hey guys. I've been getting 16 mpg on my 328i doing 60% city and 40% freeway. I do drive the car quite hard when it's nice out so I can't complain too much I guess. Just wondering what mpg you guys are getting. Comment your mpg, how much city and freeway and how your driving habits are. (Bad...
  18. E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013)
Hi I've recently purchased a 335d e91 that's about 10 years old with 130k. Before buying I'd read it's possible to get up to 40mpg. I'm doing a lot of motorway miles with some in town driving at the end. I'm getting about 32mpg currently without booting it. There's a bit of a hot oily smell...
  19. E60 M5 (2006 - 2010)
Has anyone done a long distance road trip in their M5? It's looking like I can save $1000 if I just drive cross country instead of flying. I was wondering how the MPG was, and how comfy it is after hours of driving nonstop. If there were any unexpected things you encountered that would help as...

Hi I am new to this forum so forgive me if this has been answered before... but I couldn't find a suitable answer anywhere. I have a e90 2010 bmw 320i I get very low consumption even when taking care to drive in the city. I live in the UK and currently I am getting around 22.7/23 mpg in...
