BMW's Planning a Yet-to-be-Announced World Debut of Something at the LA Auto Show

BMW is announcing the yet-be-announced World Debut of something electric at the 2017 LA Auto Show at the end of November.

On Wednesday, November 29 at 8:50 a.m PST, BMW will unveil a new electric car. The world debut will join four other electric vehicles from Bavaria, including the BMW i Vision Dynamics concept, the MINI Electric Concept, the i3s, and the X7 PHEV concept.

BMW is keeping quiet about what it's planning for Tinseltown, but it's quite possible the brand is planning the unveil an all-electric 3-series, something that had been rumored to happen in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A proper electric 3-series could be the perfect bridge between the current 330e and the eventual arrival of the production version of BMW's i Vision Dynamics Concept.

Realistically though, we're most likely looking at the global debut of the i8 Roadster.

Joining the environmental winners will be the 2018 M5, the M3 CS and the 6-Series GranTurismo. Bimmerfest will bring you more up-to-date details about the new electric car live from the LA Show floor later this month.

I think the only reason to have an electric BMW is it makes the interior look cooler with all the battery displays etc. Kind of a gimmick compared to Tesla. Maybe it's to save on fuel cost. I think an e-model BMW is only good is if it shaves like 2 seconds or more off the 0-60 time. It's like a KERS system where you go full throttle and gain like 200hp otherwise it's kind of stupid strapping it on a 4-cylinder when the 6/8 with twin-turbo is the same. I mean, you get BMW to have the prestige of luxury and performance. If you want a true Hybrid you get a Toyota or a Lexus otherwise you are doing it completely wrong. Personally I prefer a superbike over vehicles as it's the most efficient way to get around.

What about the new Z4? Is that a possibility? I'd like to think so.
