For the fifth year running, Marc Marquez has taken home the BMW M Award for the fastest qualifier.

No one else has won the coveted award since Marquez joined the MotoGP paddock in 2013. This year he took home a BMW M4 CS finished in San Marino Blue Metallic, which joins the M6 Coupe, M4, M6 Convertible, and M2 he's won previously.

The "Ant of Cervera" wrapped up the award on Saturday afternoon, 24 hours before securing his fourth MotoGP championship. and was presented the car by Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, and Frank van Meel, President of BMW M GmbH.

I know just how much the BMW M Award is coveted among us MotoGP riders and that is why I am particularly proud to have won it for the fifth time in a row, said Mrquez at the award ceremony in Valencia.

BMW comes up with something special every year, and Im really excited to be able to call the BMW M4 CS my own now. Incidentally, after five wins, my motivation is unwavering and my clear goal for next year is to win the BMW M Award for the sixth time!

Of the 15 seasons BMW has awarded the top MotoGP qualifier, Marquez is the record holder with five wins. The great Valentino Rossi and the mercurial Casey Stoner each have three BMW M Awards, Jorge Lorenzo has two, while Sete Gibernau and Nicky Hayden each have one.
