The Six Faces of the new F20 1 Series

Despite what you might think about the looks of the new F20, BMW is pushing ahead with up to six different configurations for the F20 1 series. The aggressive line up is to fend off increasing pressure from the Audi A3, Mercedes Benz A class and the VW Golf.

The variants of the 1 series from AutoCar include:

Five-door and three-door hatches in 2011 or 2012 - Pictures of the 5 door hatch here)
Coupe and Cabriolet in 2013
Front-drive GT Crossover and Estate in 2014

Good luck on getting the 1er hatch to the US. I don't count on that happening, which is a pity because I think it looks okay.

Whose idea is it to make GT models of everything in the lineup? I actually want to see an X6 "GT" to see how ugly BMW can make a car.

wonder what was the process of choosing the design... They definetly should have some "target group" poll next time.
