BMW Plans to Hire Thousands of Workers

by Tim Jones on July 5, 2012, 5:06 pm
In recent years automakers, including BMW, have hired temporary works instead of hiring full time employes as a way to manage labor costs in a volatile economy. BMW currently has about 12,000 temporary or short term employees and is looking to covert many of the short term workers into full time employment.

BMW is looking to switch 6,000 employees into permanent positions bringing their temporary labor force from 17% to 8-10%. This is good news for the labor force in German and is a continued good sign for the German car maker and the German economy.
