I think this is BMW's best looking wagon ever, including the E46.

Way too nice to be our utility vehicle though, we got a Subaru Outback for that - don't mind getting it dirty inside and out.

Weird this just bumped back up today. I agree Chris90, and I found the e60 wagon to be well done albeit a bit larger in person than ideal.

It won't be a big seller IMHO, but for those of us who want it all, cargo and a manual transmission in a very well appointed cabin with a quiet ride and outstanding handle, this is it.

Can't wait to drive one with a sport package and manual transmission. Most likely won't be able to drive such a model unless I order it though

I forgot there's a manual transmission option, that's sweet. My wife would probably sign off on this if I wanted it, but since we just bought the Outback, I'd rather have a 335i.

Ummm... this article specifically states that "there's no manual option" and "don't even ask about the brilliant diesel version that's offered in Europe". Not sure what the assumptions have been with regard to the manual, but speculation has been that the F31 would eventually be made available with a diesel.

Don't need another review of the F30 driving experience and certainly don't need a tutorial on wagons vs sedans. Would like the roll out schedules of engines and transmission options confirmed and some price info, thanks.

But the article stating no manual option is taken as written in stone?

3-pedal wagon buyers are in a market segment that they won't miss at all.

Probably half that. I read that BMW has imported approximately 1500 E91s per year. Assume that perhaps 8% are MT and maybe half of those are like my CPO '07 and do NOT have the ZSP. So that leaves about 60 per year set up like yours.

I found mine two years ago - with almost every option except the ZSP and Active Cruise Control - and since it had the magic third pedal, I snapped it up.

But with no NA I6, no diesel and no MT, I suspect I'll be shopping elsewhere when it comes time to replace the E91. And while my E91 is rated to carry a payload of over 1,100 lbs., I notice that no GVWR is quoted for the F31.

Well, good luck with that. I've had a couple Audi A4 Avants and my last one (an '09) with a ecu reflash was a nice ride. But times have changed. The old Audi Avant went under cover and has now returned as a cross dresser that goes by the name of "allroad". Audi jacked up both the price and the car, strapped on some plastic and metal bits for a nice weight gain and left it with the same 211 hp four. That engine is currently outclassed for hp by just about every other auto company in the known universe.

And the allroad does everything worse than the car it replaced... except for tiptoeing over road kill.

If Audi only had the balls to slap the 3.0 supercharged six in it, well then maybe...

...so next year I'll be looking at the F31 as wagons are increasingly rare here in NA. Wagons are just so nice for hauling kayaks.
