It's a big bummer for sure, I used TIS often. I have bentley on PDF but I do not use it as much.

You can get the TIS on ebay for about $10 for CD version.

I just hope realoem won't be next in line. That would suck big time.

I did all that extra work EXPRESSLY because nothing on the web lasts forever (nothing except for those embarrassing photos of you in a drunken stupor at that New Year's Eve party back in 2000).
I'm sad to see the TIS go (I bought the CDROM version, with a few friends, chipping in $20 each, for the ETK/TIS/WDS/KSD, etc., many years ago. Now I might have to find the CDROM we burned for each of us off the original.

Yeah, even though I have ETK/TIS/WDS installed locally, I'd prefer online versions since they are more convenient and I could use them even from my work. Sad to see TIS gone. Hopefully, Realoem.com and bmwfans.info (ETK) and http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/ (WDS) will stay (however, the online WDS on bmw-planet works only in Firefox for me, for some reasons: no IE or Chrome love).

Yes, I also have the ETK/TIS/WDS/KSD CD's, but I was so used going on-line for the TIS. For some reason it was more handy.

If RealOEM goes then I wonder what will happen to sites like Penske Parts (E39 530 version here) which essentially provide the same info. I was under the impression that RealOEM etc licensed this info. I mean, they couldn't create this from scratch, right? With all the part #s??

realoem is of no thread to BMW, just a place to look up PNs and that is it.
TIS is way more involved with a lot of technical info. I can see why BMW AG has issues with TIS.
I bought a CD copy of TIS on ebay for $10.
Anyway, these car companies need to wake up, with the wide-spread use of internet, whatever they want to hide will be exposed anyway. Shareware, Torrent websites etc. seem to be the "new normal".

I just added a new link to the TIS where I always add links (I'll let folks go there to find it, just in case).

A viewer is available from Adobe. The site will warn you that the viewer is no longer supported and has possible security concerns. FWIW, I've used the SVG viewer for 2 years behind Norton Internet Security without warnings or problems.

The TIS is an internal tool for dealers, not to be released. Posting online is probably illegal.

Do we have confirmation that BMW actually requested the takedown? I thought that the owner simply failed to renew with GoDaddy.
Those who have the TIS on CD, can it be shared? If so, put it up on the web so others can get it without waiting for shipping.
