New Version Of My BMW Remote App Released

by Bernie McGroarty on October 9, 2013, 10:23 am

BMW has made some necessary updates to their, My BMW Remote App. Version 2.7 looks to have corrected a few issues that came about in V 2.5. The Online Search feature now displays addresses in US format (House Number, Street Name, City, State). Also, when using the Online Search feature, you can simply drop a pin with a long press at a particular location on the map, and subsequently send that pin's address to you vehicle. The vehicles Vin/Chassis number is now displayed in the Settings menu. New languages were also added, including: Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Czech. Other bug fixes were also performed.

Changes were also made to the Remote Horn and Flash headlights feature. The ability to customize the number of horn soundings and headlight flashes is no longer. They are now fixed at 2 horn sounds or headlight flashes.

No changes in the Unlock feature were seen.

Check out the story on the previous version (2.5) here.

Should be good now. Bad typing on my part.

For whatever reason we can't get that app here in the US through the Play store. We have to get it from someone who publishes package for download outside of the store.

Yea, that's always been the problem. You'd think that since Android has a larger market share than iphones these days that they would have an android version.

Call BMW Assist at 888-333-6118 and if you don't already have one, they will set you up.

This version (2.7) still has the problem where if you enter for example a restaurant name, e.g. in Seattle area I enter 'Jaks Grill' it should show only 3-4 options because that's how many locations they have. Instead it returns about 40 pins, i.e. anywhere it thinks is a steak house. Mildly fricking annoying...

Classic BMW. Version number goes up, features are removed. Screw this.

Sent from my Moto X using BimmerApp mobile app

Just received my 2014 750li fully equipped with everything they could put on it. I love the car; but.... I hate that BMW has set up its communication interface to basically only support Apple products. Really???

No access with my Samsung cell phones, Samsung tablets or any PC laptop or desktop computer. All this engineering and they completely blow it on the access features.

Very disappointing and all I can say is that if they do not get it fixed before the lease is up, I will probably look a lot harder at the Mercedes S series.

It looks like there's a new version for Android out as well (1.7.1). I've done a search for the apk, but it doesn't seem like anyone has uploaded it. Does anyone have a copy handy or know where I can find one?

I got excited when I read that they released an Android app this month only to discover that it is not available for most Android phones in the US.

We can still use the app, we just have to find a place to download. A kind soul in Europe will hopefully post it someday soon.
