A little X4 teaser from BMW.
The first-ever BMW X4 will come soon and so we took the BMW Concept X4 to Berlin to check how the BMW X4 might look in a major city. What do you think?

2015 BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe Highlights:

  • World debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show in April
  • The BMW X4 xDrive28i comes with BMW's N20 2.0-liter four cylinder producing 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque with a starting price of $45,625 (including destination and handling)
  • The BMW X4 xDrive35i comes with BMW's N55 3.0-liter inline six cylinder producing 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque starting $48,925 (including destination and handling)

  • Goes on sale at your local BMW dealer this spring

BMW today confirmed the all-new BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe, a new dimension of the mid-sized premium Sports Activity Vehicle. Like the X6 before it, the BMW X4 combines the performance and capability of a premium Sports Activity Vehicle, with the style and elegance of traditional coupe. In the US, the X4 will be offered with a choice of two TwinPower Turbo engines. The X4 xDrive28i, with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $45,625 (including destination and handling), will feature BMW's award-winning 240 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder while the top-of-line X4 xDrive35i, with an MSRP of $48,925 (including destination and handling) will feature BMW's venerable 300 horsepower 3.0-liter inline six. Both models include an 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission with shift paddles as well as xDrive, BMW's intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Looks like a Honda Crosstour -- but not as well proportioned.

I think the 3GT looks more like a crosstour, I have one. The reason I went with the 3GT was for the hatchback and the extra space a sedan can't offer. I like the looks of the X4 but I would assume that my 3GT handles better; look at the ride height of the X4? Not sure if there are any specs on handling, that would be informative.

X4 would handle the same as X3 so not like the 3GT.

They are really quite different cars...

3GT is a LWB wagon with fastback. It has huge cargo space, huge backseat space, and lower starting price. It maximizes utility of a sports sedan/wagon.

X4 is SUV with a fastback. It has tiny cargo space, smallish backseat space (headroom is probably nonexistent), and higher starting price. It maximizes the sporty in a SUV.
