One feature we'd like to see on the M3/M4 - Burnout control
You have launch control, traction control, stability control and now burnout control. That's correct, burnout control, and it's the secret feature on the 2015 Ford Mustang.
In my old Oldsmobile, you would just put one foot on the brake and one on the gas. I'm pretty sure Sammy Hagar sang that in I can't drive 55. If the car was running right, often not, the front wheels would hold and the rears would break loose. Boom! Burnout! These days cars are more complicated, traction control steps in when you don't want it to, although usually you can turn it off. I guess there are consumers out there that just want to burnout easier, touch of a button and go. That's pretty much what this will be like.
To make things even more interesting, I've also read that the 2014 BMW M3 and M4 may also be available with this burnout control. However, it would only be available with the M Double-Clutch Transmission. It's still up in the air whether it's standard or an option.
My question: Is this really something that is necessary, or even really wanted? I'd love to hear what you think about this.
