BMW 4 series gran coupe

We bring you real pictures of the hotly debated and much anticipated BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. BMW's shown us a bunch of staged photos, here is your chance to see how it sits in real life.

The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe adds a fresh dimension to one of the company's newest model ranges. It combines the sleek look and sporty character of the 4 Series Coupe with the functionality provided by four-doors and a spacious, flexible luggage compartment. The 2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe arrives in the US in early summer of 2014 with two engine choices. The 428i Gran Coupe will feature BMW's award-winning 240hp TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder while the 435i Gran Coupe will be powered by the much-lauded 300hp TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline six. The 428i xDrive Gran Coupe will also be available at launch with BMW's intelligent all-wheel drive system. All versions will be offered in the US with an 8-speed sport automatic transmission.

The 428i xDrive Gran Coupe will have an MSRP of $43,225, including destination & handling while the top-of-the-line 435i Gran Coupe will have an MSRP of $46,725, again, including destination & handling.

I prefer the looks of the Sedan.

Is it just me or is this more of a "GT" body language than a "GC" ??

Looks a lot more like the 3GT than the 6GC, even the way the hatch / boot opens ...

I think it is a pretty good compromise between the two, but yes, except perhaps for the height it does have the flavor of the GT. If the vehicle were available for ED pick up this summer, I would definitely consider it over the 4 Vert I'm picking up. I know, completely different cards, but I do like the line

+1

This could be one of the many late BMWs that look much better in person than in photos.

Or it could look like a mini-GT like in that photo.

Last side window behind rear door kills it for me.

IMO not as well proportioned as the 6 GC

It would be nice to see more of the 4 series body on the GC. I was on board with this car at first, but now that I am heavily eyeing the 4 coupe more and more...that ass on the 4 GC is not looking that phat. lol

Something is really wrong with the pictures. The wide angle lens makes the car look fatter and taller than it actually is. It is much sleeker than that in real life.

I thought it was going to look better. To me it does indeed look more GT than GC. I guess I will need to wait and see it in person to pass final judgment...

Bingo!! We have a winner. Y'all should know well by now never to judge a BMW by its photos. For whatever reason Bimmers virtually never photograph well and almost always look much more appealing in real life.

That may be true, but the 4er coupe doesn't have the lines and proportions of the 6er coupe either. I'd say the 4er GC looks about as much like the coupe its based on as reasonably possible.

It's hard for any car to have the stunning proportions of the 6er.

Does anyone know what color the Gran Coupe was at the Geneva show. Was it one of the standard choices, or was it something from the "BMW Individual" options?

Consensus seems to be Carbon Black. The similar Tanzanite Blue Metallic will be available, but would seem to have a more blue hue than the car in Geneva.

looks too blue to me to be Carbon Black.
I still think it's Midnight Blue.

I do not like it at all, I guess some things are better left alone!

IMO the 4GC is entering a very competitive market that the 3 sedan holds down very well right now. Of course we as enthusiasts may tell the difference but most people cant tell you the diff between a 3 and a 7 series. This could sell well for "one-uppers" with more money than sense.

The 6GC on the other hand is the best looking modern BMW made, hands down. It lookos good in pictures and is striking in person (especially in that frozen bronze paint). The biggest thing going for the 6GC is there is actually a market for a more luxurious, better looking, more exclusive 5 series (if youve got the money).

With the 4GC starting at $42k and the 3 sedan starting at $37... this doesnt make sense to me. Call me crazy but you know what would fly off dealers lots for $35ish??? a 420i... *mind-blown*

Hmm, I think it's too dark for Midnight Blue. Maybe Imperial Blue?

I saw these pics yesterday and was just thinking about how this looks too much like a GT and not enough like a GC. The differences between this and a sedan are not enough for me to consider a trade. I've seen comments on other threads where people think this car is awesome but I somehow fail to see it. I can def. understand the appeal of the 6GC though.

quite possibly Imperial. Then it's not an individual color, but it is a great dark blue.

Midnight Blue is not available on the 435i M-sport. And Imperial Blue is not available on the F36, at all.

So, it must be Carbon Black. Or there is a slight chance it is Tanzanite Blue.
