Spied: Is this the new X7?

by Bimmerfest.com Member - NoI4plz on April 23, 2014, 10:28 am
Last month BMW had announced their plans to build a new addition to the X line, the X7. The new X7 will be built in the US, at BMW's Spartanburg Plant along with the X3, X4, X5, and X6. There was speculation as to what the X7 would look like and how it would fit into the line up. However, it looks like a possible X7 test mule was spotted, giving a better look at the future X7. As usual, the vehicle is in typical camo, but it definitely looks bigger. What are your thoughts on the possible X7 in the spy pics?

Has to be. Funny they wouldn't put a set of generic wheels on it though.

I'm loving the direction BMW is going with the tail lamps and kidney grills here. I wonder if I'll be able to get some of those protruding round tail lamps for my X5 from an aftermarket vendor?

Pretty sure those are added on pieces that are covering the actual lamps.

No.... Really??? You don't think BMW has moved to a design where the lights are actually protruding out from the rest of the vehicle on what are almost eye stalks? I thought this new design concept was announced at one of the recent auto shows, along with a universal move back to using actual flames as light sources for the lamps. (The laser lights ended up being too bright in the i8).

Wow, someone made a huge mistake by leaving the wheel caps on with the Roundel.

Not really sure about that -- the rims are a total, complete, dead giveaway anyhow.

It wouldn't take long for anyone with even a modicum of general car knowledge to recognize that its a BMW in wraps there.

From your first response, I didn't know your intellectual level. From your second response, I do.

Not that it couldnt be part of the "camo" but looks to say Hybrid Test Vehicle below door handles and on rear gate.

As a comment, I'd hope the car will be considerably bigger than X5 but doesnt look that much. We are also a Suburban family out of necessity with 6 of us. I'd love for their to be a 3 row plus legitimate storage space option from a EU maker other than Sprinter van and forthcoming RR LWB product.
