Flying drones at Bimmerfest is not allowed by Rose Bowl Management. Still, this is pretty cool. Please don't try this next year if we are back at the Rose Bowl. Thanks.

There is going to be a line but we've got a new entry system that should speed things along. Please do not show up before 9:00am.

See you Saturday,
Tim

whooot! My 335i has spa appointment in the morning! I'll be joining in the caravan on the 101 in Arroyo Grande…10 minutes south of the Madonna Inn fuel stop. What channel for the radio? Is it too late to get a rally sticker?

Just got back from the event or rather tried to get to it. Whoever is running this event . . . you guys got a problem. I've been going to this ever since it was being held up in Santa Barabra. The Rose Bowl might be a pretty place to have it but it is next to impossible to get into it. Cars were backed up onto the northbound 210 exit at Secco at 0930. No movement. Everyone was stuck on the off ramp and unable to get out onto Secco because there was a stop sign at the bottom of the ramp and no traffic control. Once you got onto the street, which took me 1/2 hour, cars were backed up to the Rose Bowl for as far as the eye could see. Cars were honking their horns and people were angry. Those residential streets weren't made for high volume traffic and it was a nightmare. I turned back onto the 210 and headed home very disappointed. Until this event is moved to a better accessible venue I won't be attending it any longer.

I didn't have any problem coming in and I showed up at 11 am 2 hours well after it started.

I had a bigger issue. Pasadena PD had all entrances blocked off except from Mountain Ave off the 210.
I came up the 710, then up local streets and it was blocked and caused a TOTAL MESS around Coloroado. It was all blocked off. Then got on the 134, and exited the first exit and turned left, and it was blocked too.
Did a U-turn, and got on the 210 and finally found a way in.

I got there around 1045am via the eastbound 134 and exited Linda Vista. There was a bit of traffic around the Rose Bowl, but I was able to drive in with no issues.

PD routed a huge group of people into lot K (over the stream bridge) and then blocked off all exits and told us that we must park there. And of course we never listened and everyone scattered to the street and reentered bimmerfest.

We exited the freeway at around 9AM and got to park in the K Lot at around 10AM. Man, Bimmers and fans were everywhere. At least I was able to buy the event T-shirt as the main souvenir. My only comment would be to improve the traffic flow and put the vendors in the H and K lots. Other than that, it was a great event and the vendors were all friendly with good giveaways.

Same. We were only a few cars away from entering before it was blocked off. I wasn't able to enter though, I was so pissed.

Hi Tim, I think you guys need to come up with a new plan. I got off the freeway at 8:50 am and it took me almost an hour to get in the gates. And then, I couldn't even get a lawn spot for my BMW. The parking help let non BMW's in and let them park on the lawn. This is a BMW event. I understand letting some exotics in, but this needs to be addressed! Having to pay the $20 to park for from the event on asphalt SUCKS! There is a lot of people who spent a lot of time prepping their cars for this event who's cars went unnoticed in the outside the event parking lots. What time do we need to get there to park inside? The gates don't open until 9 am. Let's figure this out so next year will be better, and more BMW people can get to park on the lawn. I can guarantee there is many people that feel as I do! Thanks for letting me vent........ I don't feel much better, but I got it off my chest.

This. I spent months and over a thousand dollars getting my car ready and all day the day before detailing my car only to park it in the lot where nobody saw it. I got off the exit at 8:50 just like the guy above only to spend an hour waiting in line just to get turned away. There were other people who parked in the k lot for free and got in for free. I parked in the F lot and paid $20 like an idiot.

Look at all this empty lawn.

It's ok man I totally noticed that the production was a little off as far as the production and organizing went. But as for the show in itself was good. Beside the generic repetitive e92s at the vendors

I got to the Seco exit off the 210 at 9:30am and it was a total standstill so I just went one exit north (Lincoln) to West Washington and then down N. Arroyo to Rose Bowl Dr. Nobody was on that road. Everyone was coming from Seco it seems. I stayed till about 11:30am and there was a lot of unused space on the green.

They stopped letting people in onto the grass field around 9am...what the hell was up with that? They told me it was a fire hazard and tried to block my way from getting to the other line that lead onto the field but were unsuccessful. Clearly there was plenty of space still on the grass but they were making everyone park on the cement lot. Been coming to the rose bowl since the first year it started and suddenly it is a fire hazard? Assholes.

I hope overall everyone had a good time at Bimmerfest 2014 California sponsored by ESS Tuning! For those that have concerns with traffic and parking I appreciate you sharing those so I can address them. I heard that traffic was bad and appreciate everyone who waited through it. The traffic flow and entrance plan was dictated to me by Pasadena. I had some concerns in advance but with three lanes of entry and a single point feeding the grass lot H I hoped that we could speed entry to make up for the increased traffic. That did not work and we will be pressing our case to Pasadena to change the traffic and parking for next year. I understand the value of parking on the grass which is why I advocated that the grass must be filled first and for the most part that happened. When the grass lot was closed that was a Pasadena PD call, not mine. Pasadena PD is not friendly or understanding on Saturday morning when we have the city backed up and the asphalt lots sit empty.

We have a year to work on this and have already been brainstorming. Having done what Pasadena wanted this year and it not working I hope we can convince them of a new plan with multiple entrances next year. We will also continue to improve our communication to everyone so they can plan better for next year.

Thanks again for coming out to the show and I hope overall you had a great time!

Tim
