It was a long road from the first idea to build a totally new kind of car to the BMW i3 and BMW i8. In this clip BMW shows some important steps along the way in under four minutes.
For those of us who live in Southern California, our need is not for a megacity vehicle, but, rather, for a suburban car that can carry us to the central city for work or entertainment but that allows us the flexibility of traveling through the various suburbs and neighborhoods that comprise our spread out way of life. Megacity is a term that applies to certain east coast cities but not to the suburban life style of California. I am told that BMW expects to sell many i3s in California. If that is the case, its advertising should be directed to suburban transportation rather than to megacity transportation. Having said this, the video is a smash and is much appreciated.
