If you haven't heard it already, the Remus cat-back for the M2 sounds pretty incredible. Check out the video to have a listen, then click the link below for some more sights and sounds, as well as info on pricing/options.

Remus is an great sounding exhaust system it would probably be my pick.

with that being said, I would go with a catless downpipe and remus axle-back.

Catless is a pain in the ass. You'll get a CEL almost immediately, and then you need to put something in the chain that blocks the CEL. Plus, the car stinks worse.

Those issues can be handled with a sports-catted, 200 cell DP, with very little power loss compared to catless. Fabspeed sells the most popular one. Excellent unit. Frees up the exhaust sound, too. It's what I have on my M2 now, and it's probably the best value mod out there.

I have been told that the factory downpipe on m cars is pretty similar to a catted downpipe and that there is no point to upgrade to another one unless it's catted. Is this true?

Would this be a good setup for an m4? I would delete the secondary cats, possible replace them with more resonators and then install some sort of axle-back.

Would the m4 sound good with just a secondary delete?

Ok, this is going to reveal my prejudices, but I believe it is very difficult to make a F80/82 sound good. Stock, they sound like a raspy bucket of bolts to me. I've driven one WITH the very spendy MPerformance exhaust and it sounded...ok. Dinan is making a mid-pipe to go with its exhaust for that car, and Nathan over there insists that it makes the car sound acceptable. But even he admits it doesn't sound as good as a stock M2. I'm not sure where the problem is, so I'm not sure what deleting the secondaries would do.

As for the M2 and downpipes, read Fabspeed's site, and then go to Bimmerpost's M2 section, and you'll see many, many enthusiastic reviews of their sport-catted DP, as well as Dyno charts. Those show gains of low 20's to mid 30's in hp and torque with that DP, simply by swapping out the stock DP. Plus, the sound benefit is great. The DP runs about $1000, and as mods go is worth every penny. They are backordered on them as the word has spread. More power, even better sound, and no CEL.

Agreed... m4 is my least favourite sounding BMW.

Do some research on downpipes first.

You'll need a tune or jb4 for the downpipe. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have MPPK + MPE. I am looking at LSD, Downpipe, suspension mods next. Or keep the 335 as it is and just buy a M2 or a Cayman - test drives are gone happen soon - excited for it.

What tires and rims do you have? With a downpipe, tune, camber plates, lsd and suspension it will be a true driving mschine...
