2013 BMW F10 M5 vs 2012 Cadillac CTS-V

Sit upon a throne long enough and someone’s bound to come along and try to knock you off—as was the case in the summer of 2008 when Cadillac released its all-new CTS-V to challenge the nearly 4-year-old sports sedan king, the BMW M5 (2009 Cadillac CTS-V vs. 2008 BMW M5 SMG). It was a historic moment that has helped to redefine Cadillac’s image. GM’s luxury division made no bones about it in 2008, as it specifically developed the CTS-V to knock the...

Track test of F10 535 by inside line

Inside Line tests hundreds of vehicles a year, but not every vehicle gets a full write-up. The numbers still tell a story, though, so we present "IL Track Tested." It's a quick rundown of all the data we collected at the track, along with comments direct from the test drivers. Enjoy. The 2011 BMW 535i is the most radically different 5 Series for this, the sixth generation (F10 for the BMW geeks) of the venerable not-too-big/not-too-small midsize BMW sedan with a new engine, new suspension...

Didn't Expect to But Fell in Love with the New F10

I’m a noob to bimmerfest as well as BMW. So, my apologies for a long post (questions at the end) as my intro… I tested the 2011 528i and 535i over the weekend, and man, I fell hard the new 5er, but especially the 535i. We currently have a 2009 Mercedes SLK 350 and 2010 Mercedes GL 320 CDI as our primary cars and a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon for trips to the mountains. I've also got a 2000 SAAB 9-3 Viggen that is my fun car, and I have been waiting for SAAB to launch the new 9-5 Aero...

Cool things I bet you didn't know about the F10

Ok, after reading the manual in detail, and playing with my car for a few hours, I found some obscure and interesting stuff that I bet some owners didn't know about them. Please feel free to add to this list, and if it is good enought, it could become a sticky. 1) After you move the vehicle in reverse, you don't need to push the safety button on the left of the shifter to move back to Drive. It makes a 3 point u-turn much faster. 2) You can pause, rewind and fast forward your Satellite...

24 hours and 1000 miles later... My 535i

As some of you may already know from another thread, I took delivery of my 535i on 8/12 at the Performance Delivery Center. I already described the experience here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475681 Right after the delivery, I drove 250 miles around town and got to Atlanta to spend the night. Today, I drove the rest of the way down to Houston, for a total of 1004 miles. Here are my impressions of the many hours behind the wheel of this car. The HiFi sound...
