Tight Qualifying at Rolex 24 Brings 4th and 7th for BMW Team RLLby Mark Jurista on January 22, 2015 at 10:32:00 PM
A competitive day of qualifying at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona showed just how close the field is this year with only 1.271 seconds between the entire 12-car class. BMW Team RLL will start 4th and 7th on the grid.
John Edwards, driving the No. 24 BMW Z4 GTLM, qualified in the fourth starting spot with a lap of 1:43.966 minutes. The No. 25 BMW Z4 GTLM was qualified in the seventh position by Bill Auberlen, with a best lap of 1:44.024 minutes.

Just a few weeks after its official launch, the new BMW M4 DTM now has three new looks. As well as the BMW M Performance Parts M4 DTM, which Martin Tomczyk (DE) will drive in the 2014 season, the first images of the cars to be driven by Joey Hand (US), Bruno Spengler (CA) and Timo Glock (DE) have now been released.
The 2014 designs of the remaining four BMW M4 DTMs, to be driven by Augusto Farfus (BR), António Félix da Costa (PT), Marco Wittmann (DE) and Maxime Martin (BE), will be unveiled for the first time at the official ITR tests in Budapest (HU, 31st March – 3rd April).

BMW Motorsport is giving us a teaser shot of the new BMW M4 DTM via their facebook page. While you can't see all that much for now, they do promise that more information on the car is coming soon.
Testing will continue in Budapest between March 31st and April 3rd. Another test day will come in Hockenheim from April 14th to April 17th. This all leads up to the start of the 2014 DTM season a couple weeks later.

BMW Team RLL did all it could today at the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix, at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, but ultimately ended the 2.45-hour race fifth and sixth in the GT class.
Dirk Müller and Joey Hand, driving the No. 56 Z4 GTE, finished fifth, completing 123 laps of the 2.46-mile, 10-turn circuit during the race to retain (unofficially) Müller’s lead in the GT driver standings by five points.

This weekend, BMW Team RLL heads to the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for this round of the 2013 American Le Mans Series. Joey Hand returns from his DTM racing duties overseas to once again co-drive the number 56 car with Dirk Müller.
BMW stands three points behind Chevrolet in Manufacturer points and is tied with Corvette Racing in Team points. Dirk Müller now leads the Driver standings by a 16-point margin.

Dirk Müller and John Edwards, driving the No. 56 BMW Z4 GTE, won today’s American Le Mans Series Northeast Grand Prix from the pole position.
The win increases Müller’s lead in the GT driver point standings and moves BMW to within (unofficially) three points of the lead in the Manufacturer’s Championship. Bill Auberlen and Maxime Martin, in the No. 55 Z4 GTE, finished fourth.

John Edwards, driving the No. 56 BMW Z4 GTE, carried the momentum from his first American Le Mans Series podium at the ALMS Monterey race in May to his first ALMS pole for tomorrow's Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park.
Maxime Martin, driving the No. 55 Z4 GTE he shares with Bill Auberlen, chased Edwards throughout the 15-minute session ultimately finishing second with a lap of 51.157 seconds, only .161 seconds behind Edwards.
