Our quick on the shutter spy photographers snagged these pictures of lightly disguised M4 running around Germany. This is a near production ready car as you can see from the pictures. Could BMW be moving up the M4 launch from mid-2015 to mid-2014?
As you can see most of the M4 Concept details have translated over to the production M4. The front bumper is identical but the production car will not have the carbon fiber splitter....

Motor Trend just sat down with Friedrich Nitschke, managing director, BMW M GmbH and the great news is that we will be seeing the M3 and M4 at the Detroit Auto Show in 2014.

BMW is not all that shy with testing their M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe as it keeps showing up for photographers at the Nürburgring.
These new spy photos are accompanied by a new report confirming an emphasis on lightweight materials and a timeline for when we might see a production version.

The end of production has arrived for the current generation BMW M3 Coupe with more than 40,000 being produced throughout the production cycle. Now potential buyers are faced with used models or waiting until the new M4.
Total production numbers for M3s in the E9X series were more than 40,000 coupes, nearly 10,000 sedans and just under 16,000 convertibles.

We finally have some photos of the BMW M4 Coupe in a color other than black which typically indicates that the car has moved on to pre-production testing.
The F82 M4 Coupe is also showing off some gold brake calipers which have been reserved for the Carbon Ceramic brakes that are found on the current M5 and M6.
