F32 - 430d M Sport - Back Box Delete & Dual Exhaust (PIC) Engine Drone Question
I have a F32 430d M Sport (2015).
Had a back box delete done and dual exhaust fitted.
Since then I noticed sometimes (it seems at random) the car starts making a droning noise.
I can hear it very clearly around 2.5K RPM from the cabin. It's like a very low, basey wwwwww noise. At higher/lower RPM it's not or almost not audible.
It's possible that the sound was there before I done the exhaust mods, but I have never noticed it.... so I doubt it was there.
I actually like the droning sound, it adds character to the engine sound and also from the outside it sounds a lot louder.
Does anyone know why or how this sounds occurs?
And does anyone know how I could maybe cause this sound to occur when I want it to?
Any answers would be much appreciated.
Here's another pic of the exhaust so you can see the inner workings a bit.
Maybe this helps understand why the droning happens?
Any ideas appreciated.
