Nooooo!

cj.surr 02-26-2014 02:31 PM

This can't be real life.

Guess half of my posts were in OT :eeps:

Njohc 02-26-2014 02:46 PM

So much for keeping it quiet over here in the e36 section. We're just shutting down entire websites and all.

As far as those sad about your post count... Time for an intervention!

Edit: Might as well start it out looking for help. My gauge cluster is finally starting not to work at all. Managed to make it to school and back home today with no gauges. If anybody has a cluster with say...oh.. 240k + miles please let me know. Im trying not to set it back further than the last inspection.

Thank you guys

So since this is the new OT thread:

Got my E34 oil pan, cleaning it sucks. Gonna have a good bit of parts powdercoated soon.

Sad face. Oh well, I didn't even lose 5k posts.

cj.surr 02-26-2014 04:21 PM

I've got an interview with GE Aviation for an Engineering Co-op tomorrow morning... Nervous and excited. I'm not too hopeful, I'm pretty sure they only take the cream of the crop.

TechieTechie 02-26-2014 04:28 PM

CJ...Good luck. Keep the faith, man. It's not just about the grades. I think you could really work in your experiential knowledge and appreciation for engineering genius, spacial relationships, design flaws through the work you've done building and tearing down cars. Good engineering is not only the design on the paper, but understanding how the design plays out in real life.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Karl, how's the new job going?

Gooby 02-26-2014 04:59 PM

This ot doesn't feel the same. :/

KyleDrivesABmw 02-26-2014 05:07 PM

I actually got a small panic attack when I couldn't find the other e36 thread

Oooo interesting. Where would it be located? I've got two good friends from college that are in GE's Edison Program in Cincy. One was in ME and got pretty good grades. The other, my old roomate, was in aero and graduated with over 200 credits as a super senior (only require ~133). He was trying everything to get his GPA above a 2.7:rofl:

If you're trying to get into that area of GE I can hook you up with them. The ME has a 09 M3.

drive by72 02-26-2014 06:49 PM

We lost all our tags...:(

I think Chad was the tipping point. It was the last one I saw when the site was going down. Geez Chad. :tsk:

Rich_Jenkins 02-26-2014 07:08 PM

I will try and find out what happened.

Thanks for the update! As much as we joke and jest, we know that thread was very long and a tax on the server. I think I speak for most of the OT group that we appreciate the hard work and are relatively understanding of the situation.

Keep it up, mods of Bimmerfest!

Also... I found my next car.

James....nonononono. It looks like a bad marriage between a hyundai, a venza, and a watermelon. I'd give you Snowy before I'd let you buy that thing.

Well, maybe

We might have to have a moment of silence at Bimmerfest East and West for the thread that brought us all together. It's sorta sad, actually, that it's gone. Mods, if there is any way to archive it, we'd be most grateful.

Oh, and sorry for crashing the website. :bawling:

Brake_L8 02-26-2014 07:22 PM

A round of shots to celebrate the old OT thread's demise at BFe. Let's do it.

Got the tie rods and control arms off of the M3 tonight. Easiest removal I've had on a BMW, ever.

Maybe if we had more people in purple, they wouldn't have taken our home from us :dunno:
