Thanks! Two questions:

I got the 60 GB video-ipod.
Is this compatible, too?

What is going to happen with the CD-Changer? Is it simply disconnected or removed? Could it be re-connected at a later time (instead of ipod) if desired?

Thanks...

Unfortunately, there isn't a 7-series specific kit available yet. For the other makes (I see you have an M5 as well), the CD Changer is disconnected and replaced with the iPod adapter. It can be switched, but after using the iPod with the kit - this probably won't happen anytime soon. :D

BTW - the iPod Video is 100% compatible with the kit.

Thank You very much! Most of the time, I'm driving the M5 so that should be fine. I wasn't sure if the video-ipod was compatible because it wasn't listed on the website... , but that problem is solved now...:D

Do you know by any chance how much a dealer would approax. charge for installation?

Thanks again!

Our dealer instructions quote at 0.75 hour for the job, verify with your dealer beforehand to be 100% sure.

Any idea how this after market product will compare to the BMW ipod adaptor...ie will the BMW adaptor also play video? Trying to figure out if i should make the plunge and get the one out now or wait for BMW to start shipping theirs?

If you are referring to your M3, this adapter (e60 5-series & M5) does not apply to your vehicle. Do you have another vehicle other than what is listed in your details?

edit: Reread OP post, the BMW kit is the only ipod adapter available on the market at this time.

I guess my question was how this product will differ from the one that BMW is saying will be out soon? I have an M5.
Thanks

The kits for the M5 are already in stock and shipping.

iPod Integration Kit for e60 5-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=394

These do not have the capability for video display, but will integrate the iPod and offer CD Quality sound, charging and steering wheel control.

Yes, it's available - we're completing the instructions as time allows and will be placed on the website shortly.

That sounds awesome. Was just at my local auto accessory dealer/shop (getting windows tinted), Kartunz in Pleasanton, CA... He had told me that the MOST ipod adaptor for the 2007 5-series wasn't shipping yet...so it looks if I wait just a tad longer, we'll be able to get audio AND video ipod support..sounds good! :)

BMW is the only place that offers a MOST iPod kit at this time, and it's definitely compatible with the MY07 5-series. We have the video solution when ready.
