Front Control Arm question
e60, 80k miles. Need new upper and lower CAB, I want new balljoints as well (may or may not need em). What I want to do it run Meyle HD arms w/balljoints and install my own Powerflex bushings.
I cannot seem to find any MFG that sells arms without bushings. I dont want to have to buy a replacement arm, just to press out the MFG's bushing and throw it away.
It also looks like #16 doesnt have a serviceable bushing, but Powerflex does sell a poly for that. Can this bushing be pressed out if I cant find the arm w/o the bushing.
Has anyone come across someplace that I can just buy the arms w/balljoints with no bushings.
They usually come as an assembled unit because most people don't have the press to press these bad boy bushings out and in
One option is to buy cheap used control arms off eBay
but you risk buying bent control arms and putting a good bushing in..
I've just come to the conclusion the thrust arms are important enuf to my drive
to look for a new pair and run it into the ground til the bushings fail
then press them out for new monoballs cause poly sux and squeaks like pigs
black friday is coming up.. a pair cheaper is just month away
