Might want a second opinion. Pulleys can seize and can be replaced by independent shops for about $400. Thatís relatively low mileage on the compressor.

I agree with HerbP. Old fluid and old seals canít hold the pressures to allow the transmission to function correctly. Causes that lurch when stopping at a red light. Like someone rear ended you.

Sounds a bit like your remaining issue may be vacuum leaks. Maybe just small. Your are running on an closed loop at startup and then you switch over to the open loop to adjust to the vacuum leaks.

Different engine but I remember oiling them up, pushing hard, and turning both ways to get them seated. It was a headache and was forced with success.
