Well, it worked...! It may have been two things. One, not having a full version of INPA, and the other, I made a mistake soldering the cable... I soldered together the leads on the circuit board...

Last week changed the oil at a 5k interval... added 5 qts putting the oil level at the 3/4 mark, then I began adding 2oz increments to top it off. After the 2nd add, I measured it after a 1 mile...

I changed mine with Pennzoil Ultralube at 1K...

I changed mine with Pennzoil Ultralube at 1K miles, and today had the dealer change it at the one-year service date at 8K miles... I'll leave it in there for a couple of months, then change it out...

I call BS on that dealer... if anything it will handle better and have a smoother ride with a good set of non-RF's... RF's are harder on a suspension (less sidewall flex) and will wear out shocks...

The reason Subaru got caught was their engine had a dipstick and owner's could check the level...

There's no such thing as a "lifetime fluid"...this is BMW's way of saying "we're not covering it under warranty".... all fluids break down with heat and shear forces over time... most tranny fluids...
