If your old wear sensor is still around and didn't trigger the light, you could try swapping it back in to see if that fixes it. Other light triggers could be low fluid or handbrake.

Just a thought, if the car is running hot it could trigger both the engine limp home mode and the transmission light, as the trans cooler is built into the car radiator. It would be worth scanning...

What happens when you start the car up from cold, i.e. before the car has a chance to make any heat? Does the a/c get cold then? If not, it is likely an a/c problem, not your blend doors or heater.

Dave, the roundel has two layers to it. It sounds like when that knucklehead pried yours off, the bottom half remained on the car, revealing the 4 holes where the pins held the two halves together....
