if i am not mistaken that looks like the old expansion tank bracket from a M54 engine. It had 2 o rings that went into the radiator and held the trans cooler.

I would first make sure the diaphragm does not leak as that is another source of a failed disa valve. If it in fact passes the diaphragm test I would not hesitate to rebuild it with the GAS kit.
