Leave the hose disconnected and run the purge cycle, same thing they are doing.

Put your VIN in, search and locate the part you want.
On that page it should list all years and models it was used on.
As stated above, highly unlikely it will be compatible.

To the OP, either way it is going to boil down to who locked the car last using the fob.
I don't see a way around your original problem besides pushing the button.

Both are right.
Look in your owners manual and it will show an acceptable octane range.
Then when you try them out experience will show you the car responds better with the higher octane.

Why would ONLY the drivers door be the trigger? Also where did you get that information?
To me it stands to reason, any of the doors and trunk require the fob trigger, from there it would recognize...
