I'm pretty sure the E39 leather is technically Dakota due to it's grain. But the Lexol cleaner works really well on it. As for the conditioner it seems to work well too and makes the interior smell...

The precharge pump is not in the ABS block where the module attaches. It's actually down the side of the engine back near the firewall area.

In my experience with owning 4 E39's the easiest way...

Cleaned the engine bay on two more 530i's with this method and not a single issue. In fact, I've been doing this on my BMW's since 2003 and never had an issue.

The 525i ZF transmission is known to have problems even in relatively low mileage. It's also like $1500+ on the used market plus labor, where the 530i's GM trans can be had for $300-$400 plus labor....

I also had the P0500 speed sensor fault code in my 2001 530i before getting the ABS module rebuilt. Installed a rebuilt module and the codes and trifecta of lights all went away. Best $100 you can...

Looks like I've gotten off easy as the E39's I've owned are always repaired with the simple ABS module rebuild for under $100. Just had my 530i module rebuilt and it cleared the trifecta of lights...
