It has to do with the connection.. When you.push the airbag, it makes contact, and sets the horn off... Find whats making contact, uncontact it.. Or just get a mew steering wheel.

Also pretty posative after 95 you can pull the interior door handle and it unlocks the door... My 95 doors do. Dont see why a 97 wont.. My 93 do not unlock from inner door handle tho..

With a good scanner you should be able to read the live data and rpm while cranking. If it reads anything, its probably good.
