Why not? They fit the rim, there's more tires to choose from, they are a bit less expensive and after driving for 25,000 miles with this size tires on the X5 I have no issues putting another set on....

I'll be putting 235/60R18 size tires on. That's what the last set was and I was very happy with the tires (Yokohama YK580). I would buy a new set in a heartbeat if they'd still make them.
