Doesn't sound right to me either. The ZF 8 speed transmissions on these cars shift pretty smooth. You are under warranty, so keep on top of this. Consider having someone from the dealer service...

I have Sensatec in my 2014 X1. Does it feel like quality leather? No. But it's pretty decent and I am pretty happy with it. Has held up well.

I would go fro the xDrive. It's more than just traction in slick conditions. The sDrive is FWD not RWD, so not the best for handling. If the sDrive was RWD it would be a different story. EPA...

That not a bad price for a battery from the dealer. An AGM of the right size is going to be about $200 just about anywhere else. If the dealer puts it in, I would think they would also "register"...

Probably the biggest is the valve chain guide issue with the N20 engine. A search here will turn up some threads on it. A not common issue, but when it happens it is a huge deal.

No I am the first owner bought new off the lot and it is a '14 model year bought late in 2013. And I have had no coding done. Perhaps there are differences between cars sold in the US versus Canada.

I have the base audio system and don't have iDrive. I think the best audio feature is using a USB flash drive loaded with music. With a $10 flash drive you can load more music than you could listen...
