The needing to replace the sensor is what got me too when I changed the rear pads. As mentioned even with a scan tool it wont reset without a new sensor. Sensor didn't look like it had been ground...

I did the rear pads on my 2013 X5 two months ago...

I did the rear pads on my 2013 X5 two months ago and it was $50 for the pads I think and $15 for a sensor.

Took 45 minutes to change the pads total I think.

So DIY $65 or so.
