But would you buy an X1 that already has 90K miles on it without a clear understanding of the vehicles maintenance history (which the OP may or may not have -- this is not clear to me).

Again, personally I absolutely would not (of course price plays a roll here too!). A Corolla, Camry, Civic, Accord, etc. maybe, but I would not do this on any BMW.
