F10 / F11 (2011 - 2016)
The sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series Sedan (F10) was produced from 2011 - 2016 with LCI updates arriving in 2014. In the US BMW offered a hatchback 5 Series Gran Truismo (F07) and the rest of the world also go a Station Wagon/Touring version F11.

DIY N63 550i turbo rebuild and oil return seal replacement

My 2011 550ix had a lot of oil in the valley between the exhausts, which was coming from a lot of different places. I replaced the oil return housing and gasket, and re-did the turbos at the same time.

For those who want to do the same thing, here is my DIY:

I had a friend help me for some of it, but really just pulling the alternator was the only thing that required two people. That and putting the v-band clamps back on the turbos. What a pain. There must be some kind of trick to that.

My friend put in about 20 hours helping me, and I probably put in another 5-10. But this was a month-long project and I'm still learning how to fix cars.
