Please I.D (strange material in oil)

Hi I just bought a 2004 m3 100k miles this is the first time I’m doing an oil change and I noticed these plastic piece in the oil filter and in the housing!
If anyone can ID them and instruct the next course of action. Thanks I’m new to the forum

By the first look I have a feeling that these are parts from Chain Guides. If it is so, you need to take care of it ASAP or fear an engine damage due to either oil starvation if pieces a logged into an oil passage or chain slipping.

I can't see your pictures. Someone here can likely I'd the material by the color. I can tell you it's a very serious matter. I would want to change oil and filter fast and get the car to a trusted engine mechanic to be sure all the pieces are out and get whatever is causing the problem fixed. Is there any warranty on the car ?? Because this could be expensive.

Could this be the reason the car was available for sale ??

Whatever you do save the filter and the oil if you can and take pictures of the plastic parts.
