What's the Condition of Your Spare Tire?

Does your vehicle have a Spare Tire?

In the event that your vehicle does have a spare assembly, whether it be full size or a compact, do you know the condition?

Like other tires, a spare tire can be impacted from exposure to UV, from heat, and other conditions. To avoid having spare tire troubles, check out our write-up linked below and if you're in need of a replacement spare or an entire spare assembly, shoot us a PM and we'll make sure you're taken care of!

OE is Original Equipment aka 'BMW Original Parts' aka 'What you buy at the BMW dealer with a BMW label'

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer... EITHER the company that made the OE part or.... A part this is identical to the OE part, but is sold by the OEM under their own label

OEM is not what BMW sells

I had an eight year old mini-spare tire fail within the first mile I drove on it. It was properly inflated, too. From now on, I'm going to replace my spare tires every six years. I keep cars up to twelve years, so I'll only have to do it once per car.

No, you have a time bomb in mint condition. When a tire blows, especially one with 60 PSI in it, it can literally rip off a fender.

The newer BMW platforms offer spare tires as options on most versions. At $150, they're the best deal on the option list. With some of the platforms, the spare tire is free if you order non-RFT tires.
