I'm on a Facebook group about it... Hyundai/Kia Burnt Taillight Spotting Club. Literally all day long they're getting posted up... it's a real problem yet so many people don't believe it! Lol

Like I said before, my mom has had her 2006 Elantra since new and every year I've had to replace the brake/tailight bulbs at least once or twice. No matter what brand of bulb I use.

Yup! There has to be a problem with Hyundai/Kia's taillight wiring. My mom's 2013 Elantra had two blown out brake lights for the longest time and none of us knew until a coworker told her one day.
One of those was the center brake light, and on the Hyundai forums people urged me to let the dealer handle it because the bulb holder and wiring are fragile... seriously!? I just wanted to find the bulb size. No wonder the bulbs are always bad... the owners are afraid to replace them!

I did replace the wiring harness for both tailights last November and it may have seemed to work since there's been no issues. Though I probably just now jinxed myself lol. Weirdly my sister's 2002 Accent has never had any of those problems.

Also replaced the third brake light housing for the rear window with a new OEM one. Not because of any bulb problems but because it was all cracked an broken from years of sun heat.

As for bulb size, check Sylvania's bulb guide page. Saved my ass a headache several times

That's the site I usually use too. One of the best for having everything in one place!

That's impressive... it's funny how the older Hyundais don't have these lighting issues as much, yet they're the cheaper quality cars. Not that the new ones are much better... I've already seen 2019 Sonatas with blown brake lights... it's hilarious!

I think the older one's like my sister's Accent is more reliable because it was made back when Hyundai was serious about trying to be seen as a reliable brand. An no doubt I'll give them credit there. That car has been bullet proof over the last 17 years. Never had any issues.

Agreed. Now they don’t even have to try... they have a customer base. They have attractive warranties a low prices, that’s all they need!
It’s like Craftsman tools and Fram filters. Both used to make quality products, but now they can sell junk because they have the brand recognition and a loyal customer base.

Also... these BMW grilles are getting WAY out of hand! Click image for larger version

They’re calling the BMW Concept 4. I can’t tell if BMW’s designs are getting worse or if Kia is doing better... probably a combination! This car looks alright, but the grilles kill it.
On the other hand, I really like the look of the Kia Stinger. Just wish it was offered with a manual... that would make for a pretty cool Kia!

I did drive a Kia Sedona with my friend last year. It was all blacked out, fully loaded with the reclining middle row seats and all the other goodies. Was fairly quick too. I'll have to admit that it was actually a pretty cool car. If I had kids an had to buy a minivan, it would definitely be my list of choices lol.

The Supra is really growing on me... The thing is, my road to work every day takes me right by the main dealer's window where's there's a red one. The road is 5 metres away from it so I notice more and more details every time.....
.... Funny thing, I never actually stopped to look at it...

So I read it here about the bad taillights and wouldn't you know it this morning on the way to work I pulled up behind a Kia Soul at a red light and only the passenger side was lit. Of course when the light turned green there were no lights on the back. Then the idiot is driving 5 under the limit and I got tired of everyone going around me so I pulled around the Kia and...5:30am and that thing had NO lights on at all!

I liked the current gen Sedona when I first checked it out when it was new. Most Hyundais/Kias are pretty decent cars overall, but it's just the quality issues, whether it be the brake lights or the engine. Fortunately I think their engines have improved since the major Theta II issues.

I really like them. At first I wasn't crazy about it, but the new Supra has really grown on me.

This is a list of all the fake vents on the Supra. It's mind boggling.
Two in the bumpers,
Two beside the front lights at the sides,
Two on the front fenders,
Two on the doors,
Two beside the rear lights.
Just imagine the potential available for the aftermarket community, unplugging and putting all those fake vents to work.

Wow, that's a lot! That's what happens when manufacturers feel the need to make their cars look "cool!"

I have a hard time justifying a dozen fake vents and buying the car new... Of course the fake exhaust trend has been around for a while now (Audi, VW, Mercedes) so I guess "fakeness" is the new kewl!!

Must be! People don't care what's functional... they care about the cool factor! Even if those "cool" things are total jokes to enthusiasts.

My cousin just picked up an X3 M sport xDrive35i last night. It's pretty sweet! I can't wait to check it out in person! He realized after dailying his 4th gen Firebird Formula for a few months that it wasn't realistic when traveling for work or carrying co-workers. He wanted something more practical, but still fun... I think this was a good compromise!
He's already talking about a downpipe, exhaust, intake, tune, and some other goodies. Apparently just bolt ons and a tune will net about 120 HP! Those N55s are beasts!

The the best model shape of the X3. The first is too bland and the third is too vanilla and has been treated with that nasty new virus grille.

Ugh... watching the video that screenshot came from was painful. That dude's a scumbag, no reason he should be as popular as he is on Youtube... all he does it test stupid ideas. Duct tape tires, flex seal for oil, vegetable oil for oil, WD40 for oil, using like 500 spacers on wheels, etc.
And come on... what did that poor Saab do to anyone?
