X1 was the second to last car to transition to F series. Z4 outlived it for another year. Neither ever got the NBT.

I think you're right. Didn't the NBT have the touch pad knob?
IIRC, the F48 X1 was the last BMW to get it?

Isn't the CIC being phased out, and BMW is eliminating the real time traffic updates through it, etc sometimes next year?

Maybe I'm confusing something else, but I thought it was through the CIC systems. I'll try and find the thread I'm talking about.

Afaik, traffic info on cic comes over hd radio. I don't think that's what's going away. Support for cellular data with the combox that most cic cars have does end at the end of 2016, but there should be a retrofit option for recent owners. Traffic should still work, since it's not coming in over the Internet as I believe the nbt system does.

Right. But we will be on the hook for at least some of the cost to retrofit it. It's bullshi*, really.

Are we? That was not made clear in the press release posted on Bimmerfest. It was admittedly lacking in detail, however. It sounded like if you still have a subscription, you can choose $200 ($300 in hats and shirts) or get the retrofit at no cost. Is there evidence that we'll have to chip in?

You're right, it's not entirely clear.

I have an active subscription to E-call, Remote Services, and TeleService through 2023.

Are these the bmw assist?

Sorry, I'm pretty new here.
