Sunshade Failure

My panoramic sunshade has stopped working. It is actually the rear panel that is the issue. The actual glass is fine it opens and closes but the rear sun shade is stuck in the open position. Anybody had any luck in a simple fix to reconnect the sunshade? I have read about the same issues on the x3 and X5 but nothing on the 2013 x1.
The front panel still moves with the buttons. Is there an X1 repair kit for this? I can well imagine the headliner needs to be dropped but I can't even find a reference to the x1 components. X3 and X5 yes, X1 not so sure!
I have found part #54102993878 but so little detail. Has anybody done this repair/been through this work?

Bump - looking for same answer. Just happened to me over the weekend. Dealer told me today it's not covered under CPO. First repair estimate was $4,000. Now I'm told it could be less, but they would need to take the sunroof apart in order to find that out. I asked for a rough estimate on how many labor hours involved with just figuring it out - and was told it would be significant. So, I said leave it go.

The sunroof glass opened but the shades didn't move with it, they stayed closed. I press the open button again and this time the front shade started opening and then *snap* I heard plastic breaking / cracking and the shades opened fully and that was that. Now the back panel shade is fully open and in between the headliner and roof, the front doesn't open with the sunroof but can be moved by hand.

Here's the scope of the work to replace. Navigate back on the menu top of the page. beta
Home / BMW E84 X1 xDrive28i SAV / Repair Manuals and Technical Data / 54 Slide/tilt sunroof and convertible top / 54 13 Panorama glass roof /
54 10 260. Removing/installing panorama glass roof

AS I recall, there are plastic ramps that do the tilt function that break. Look on you tube as there are quite a few videos illustrating the mechanisms. Almost all sunroofs are made by the same company.
Scepticism and Animal Faith (1923)
Scepticism is the chastity of the intellect, and it is shameful to surrender it too soon or to the first comer: there is nobility in preserving it coolly and proudly through long youth, until at last, in the ripeness of instinct and discretion, it can be safely exchanged for fidelity and happiness.
