E82 / E87 / E88 / F20 1 Series (2008 - 2014)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by a naturaly aspirated inline 6 in the 128 or the turbo twin power inline 6 rocket sled 135.

Bleding coolant question

Ok,
so looking at the procedure, but it say's to connect a supply to the charging points

I have the BMW trickle charger will this suffice, I'm planning on charging the battery overnight.
and when I do the bleeding procedure, to keep it on

It's essentially the Cetek 4.3 badged for BMW

Do I need to get a battery charger or a battery pack

or will the bmw trickle, battery maintaner work
if not any one can advise on something

txs

BMW elsewhere specifies their "approved battery charger" and its capabilities, which IIRC include battery booster. "Trickle" and "maintainer" are not what you need or want.

ok so I checked my manual, it refer's to it as a bettery charger
"The bmw battery charger is a primary switched charger with pulse maintenance
the charger is intended for charging and trickle-charging 1.2ah-160ah
charging current is 4.3Amps
capacity is 1.2 to 110ah, up to 160ah for maintenance charging"
am I ? good without knowing what is approved it's hard to tell
I have googled and BMW do an advanced battery charging system and my one, which is often reffered to a charger/trickly charger/maintaner
will check newtis

alternativley, my local canadian tire has this "MotoMaster Classic Series 15/8/2A Battery Charger & Maintainer"
but the modes are switchable, ($75)
not sure if this is ok, also I have to manually switch it, not sure how to determine what I would use
as my existing one is already 4amps

The bleed process isn't that much of a power drain so unless your battery is near the end, I don't think it would get drained with no charger/maintainer hooked up. With the CTEK you should have no problems. I done it 3 times with a CTEK on the car.
