7 Series - G11 / G12 (2016 - current)
The next generation G11/G12 BMW 7 Series flagship forum. Unveiled June 10th, with production starting in August the 6th generation 7 Series comes in a light weight package with extensive use of BMW i carbon fiber technology. The interior quality raises the bar with a touch screen and gesture controlled infotainment system. Exterior styling has been a sticking point with mixed reviews so far.

Laser Lights

I had read some where that the laser lights were not approved for the USA.

However, I was at my BMW dealer today and was told that they believe that BMW did recently get approval.

I don't want to start a rumor, but figured I would pass this information along.

I would think laser lights and remote driving will both require additional hardware but it seems plausible that coding them with the hardware would work.

Exactly. You can not code something unless it physically exists on the car.

Although my dealer indicated approval had been obtained for the laser headlights, I have been unable to confirm this.

My current lease runs through December 2016.

Hopefully year two will have them.
