windshield/rear window trim replacement
'87 325E w/5spd, 2door coupe, Delphin Metallic, 187k. Been fixing her up and mechanically, she is running great. ( Except for idle, but that's another thread). Time for some cosmetics......... Got replacement chrome trim for windshield and rear window. I can pry out the old, brittle and discolored trim easy enough. Does anyone have any tips on how to put in the the new trim? I tried using a flathead screwdriver, but that ended up damaging the new trim and making cuts in the rubber gasket. Then I tried tapping it in with a small hammer wrapped in a towel. No dice. It doesn't just snap in. The rubber groove in the window gasket is narrower than the chrome trim that I am trying to put into it. I can't figure out how to get this to fit. It started snowing out, so I came inside and here I am. Thanks and Happy New Year! ps--did a search and found some stuff, but no installation info.
