3 series (E90) N54 vs 5 series (E60) N54

Good morning all

This may be a silly question but BMW does some silly things...

So is are there any under the hood (fueling/engine/accessory) differences between the 3 series (E90) N54 vs 5 series (E60) N54? I ask because when looking for upgrade parts they sometimes list 135 and 335 N54's but not the 535i. I would hate to buy something, go to install it and figure you the BMW made a minor modification for the 535 N54 so the part does not fit

Thanks for the help

If it's not listed to fit a 535i, I wouldn't buy it.

The engine is the same, but some of the piping (charge pipe, etc) are different.

One might well expect the alternator and a/c compressor to be different. Other engine parts, probably not.

Thanks for the input. I have called a couple parts suppliers and there are small differences all over the place
