X5 E53 TPMS "Main Antenna" Location

Can anyone please tell me where central TPMS antenna is for an E53? I looked at chassis under front seat, rear right, and just rearward of trans-axle. As you know this car does not have an RDC module in trunk. Couldn't find it on realoem either. if you go to realoem, wheels, tire pressure system, it says not applicable to this vehicle, can't even find the receivers behind the wheels in realoem. Thanks for any help, Eric

The E53 use the ABS to calculate low tire pressure...so there won't be any TPMS antenna.

Help us help you better. You give no model/model year information...and not everything is the same through the entire production range from 1999-2006.

I believe the direct (RPA) TPM system was used on the e53 up to around the 4/04 build date. After that, like DKL mentions in his reply...the e53 went to the indirect (RPA) TPM system that uses the wheel speed sensor (ABS) which calculates tire rotation to determine if the tire has lost pressure.

By not giving any model/model year info...you might receive incorrect information or sent down a rabbit hole.

EDIT...found my TPMS chart...and the e53 does have a 4/04 production date change in regards to which TPMS is installed. If you build date is prior to 4/04...you may be able to find some info on the TIS website. Click the flol owing link, type in the last 7 digits of your VIN...then type RDC into the search box. Scroll down the list of links and look for one that says something like install/remove front RDC aerial (if you need the front) or install/remove rear RDC aerial (if you need the rear): https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/
